Blathmac’s stanzas 260–303 on Judgement Day

Abstract

This article presents a diplomatic transcript, normalised critical edition and English translation of the ‘fragmentary quatrains’ of Blathmac’s poems from NLI MS G50, along with an interpretation of the text and an analysis of Blathmac’s source. These quatrains are difficult to read in the manuscript, but advances in technology have allowed significantly improved readings and the recovery of a larger portion of the text than was possible previously.
