This case study of the technical signs and signes de renvoi in Rome, BAV, Reg. lat. 49 (R) describes their forms, functions, and possible origins, referencing the work of P.-Y. Lambert, M. B. Parkes, and E. Steinová. The primary annotator may have drawn from at least two sign collections. The sign inventory may help locate R in the scribal community that produced it by exploring possible links with sign collections in contemporary manuscripts from different regions.
