A discussion of the themes and literary context of this satire is also presented below.

SAN ALT SEO CUIRTEAR EAGRÁN ar fáil den dán A Íosa Críosd créad an toil (6 rr.), aoir a leagtar ar Dhonnchadh Mór Ó Dálaigh agus nár cuireadh eagar go fóill air. Is cosúil gur file eile atá á cháineadh ag údar an dáin seo toisc nach bhfuil an cumas céanna ag an mbeirt. I gcaitheamh an dáin, tráchtann an file ar ghairmeacha beatha éagsúla a raibh stádas difriúil ag roinnt leo i sochaí na linne. Soláthraíonn an dán eolas luachmhar ar na slite beatha seo.
