A note on Sect.o.f.n.

Abstract

This note suggests a reconstruction of the first line of a poem on the subject of Brug na Bóinne from the Book of Leinster, p. 209, beginning Sect.o.f.n. The poem was previously edited and translated by Lucius Gwynn and translated into French by Christian Guyonvarc’h, although neither scholar attempted to reconstruct the first line. Issues of mise-en-page, as well as the content, language, and metre of the poem will be discussed.
